One square on the large quilt:
I am charging $100.00 for my labor on the large quilt and $55.00 labor for the small quilt, the rest is material and binding and the bandana's. The bandana's sell for $9.95-$13.95 each. The small quilt uses 6 and the large quilt uses 12.
I will take a money order or cashier check. I will take a personal check if you can wait until it clears my bank and then I will send the quilt.
I also have more photos....I didn't want to put too many on the site because they take so long to load....If you want to see more photos please email me and I will send some to you via email. Let me know if you want a particular view....I can take a special photo and send.
If requested; I will email you a list of the store and the state the bandana's are from on each quilt.
Quilt directions:
The bandana's used for the quilt top are bought new and I wash and iron them.
Then I cut them all to the same size.
I also wash and iron the material for the backing and the strips and the binding.
Then I cut out the strips and the binding.
I position the bandana's and start sewing.
The sewing here is done on the machine.
Then I sew the back....depending on the material I may have to piece it together to cover the whole back.
Then I put on the binding to either the top or the bottom depending on how I decide to do it.
And the I lay it all on the floor and I layer the three layers: the bottom, the batting, the top;
and I bast them together.
Then I hand sew the binding to either the top or the bottom depending on where I sewed it to begin with.
This usually takes quite some time.
Then I have to sew in the ditch through all three layers all the way down the bandana's
in about five places;
Twice vertically and three times horizontally to hold all of the layers together.
Or I tie embroidery floss at all corners and also at the side edges of each bandana.
If I tie to the back then the ties don't even show on the front.
And ta da....it's done.
